Started Assassins Creed Odyssey a few days ago. I saw it was on Xbox Game Pass and thought, why not I haven’t played a AC (Assassins Creed) game since the second one.
The game starts off great! Your placed as a Spartan general “The Wolf of Sparta” in the Battle of 300. So fairly quick you are into the gameplay. Then the intro cinematics that lay the story plot.

It was nice to get a choice on character and how the story still flows the same. Alexios and Kassandra are the character choices. Which you soon figure out are brother and sister, and whichever one you choose the opposite character is sacrificed to the Gods, while your father “The Wolf of Sparta” has you meet your fate as well.

After more Cinematic cuts your finally getting into the real gameplay aspect. Time leaps to the future where you are now grown and living as a Mercenary “Misthios” on the island of Kephallonia in Greece. Get to start with a quick scuffle with some thugs hire by the “Cyclops” to get money that’s owed.

I was excited to get playing, so I quickly figured out the controls and got familiar with the menus and map keys. I started my journey in a classic Assassins Creed fashion and “Free Ran” to the highest point of the island where a Synchronized spot was located. The graphics were stunning, reminds me of a Witcher 3 feel, with all the colors and wildlife. The mechanics were also another plus, the “Free Run” aspect was super smooth and not as clunky as the 1st “AC” game, obviously.

The game is packed! With so much to do and so much to explore you can find yourself getting lost in this. The extra features just make it that much more appealing with the horses, wars, battles on the sea, and even Sharks!

Needless to say, I have barely gotten to the 1st war when you engage in alongside Sparta against the Athenians to get your chance to speak to “The Wolf of Sparta”. But it’s enough to keep me on the sticks and furthering my adventure in Odyssey.
